Miracle Mile

The Miracle Mile is one of Australia’s premier harness racing showdowns for standardbreds and is conducted at the esteemed Menangle Park in New South Wales every November.

A Group 1 feature for pacers, the Miracle Mile is worth a lucrative $500,000 in prize money making it one of the richest pacing events in Australia.

The Miracle Mile is contested by the premier pacers in the country every year attracted to the prestige and the speed bonuses on offer, making it one of the most popular pacing races to enjoy a bet on.

Conducted over 1600m, the Miracle Mile is sponsored by SEW Eurodrive and is part of the Grand Circuit Series for pacers.

Miracle Mile History

Inaugurated in 1967 when Robin Dundee claimed victory, the Miracle Mile was originally conducted at Harold Park Racetrack but was recently moved to Menangle Park, run there for the first time in 2009.

The Miracle Mile originated as a 1609m event but from 1996 – 2008 the race was held over a longer 1760m distance before reverting back to the mile in 2009.

That year champion New Zealand pacer Monkey King set the Miracle Mile speed record winning in a blistering 1:50.8.

Miracle Mile Betting

The Miracle Mile presents punters with one of the most exciting harness racing battles and largest betting markets of the year.

When getting in on the action it is important to note that many top pacers claim back-to-back Miracle Miles, most recently Be Good Johnny (2005/2006), so watching for the defending champ can prove a profitable move.

Because the Miracle Mile is one of the legs in the annual Grand Circuit Series, punters can use the earlier Grand Circuit features as a guide for the Miracle Mile.

The best Miracle Mile betting tip is to avoid placing your wagers at the TAB who offer the bare minimum when it comes to betting options and odds.

Instead, sign up with one of Australia’s leading online bookies such as Luxbet or SportsBet and start enjoying better odds and bigger payouts with all your harness racing bets!
